XProtect Axis Cloud Access for operators

How to Change Axis Cloud Access Ports

Last Updated: 1 minute read
Version1.1.21
LanguageEnglish

Axis Cloud Access installs several Windows services using predefined network ports. They can be manually reassigned by updating the AdapterConfig.txt and local-config.json files. This should be done only in case of conflicts, when ports are already in use by other applications. This affects only the ACA application behavior and is not related to XProtect operation.

(Optional) Back up your old configuration before you make any changes.

AdapterConfig.txt (Service Port Definitions)

Located in the installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Milestone\XProtect Recording Server\Drivers\NativeDrivers\resources\AdapterConfig.txt), the file defines the ports used by internal ACA components.

Configuration by default looks like:

dds_host=127.0.0.1:7000

dds_rest=127.0.0.1:8301

dcs_host=127.0.0.1:7001

mss_host=127.0.0.1:7007

xpt_host=127.0.0.1:7010

mev_host=127.0.0.1:7010

syslog_host=127.0.0.1:514

secure_grpc=off

log_level=debug

User Configuration Directory

AxisCloudAccess stores user-specific configuration under the User folder. For example, usually it is: C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect Axis Cloud Access\local-config.json. Inside, the file contains port settings for each ACA microservice.
