Database Issues
Database issues may be encountered if the following were not taken into account when installing PostgreSQL:
Installing PostgreSQL in a domain environment requires executing PostgreSQL installer with admin permission.
Installing PostgreSQL on a deployed operating system requires a unique machine name.
If you select an existing shared network folder as the BriefCam shared data drive, make sure that the user has permissions to the shared network folder.
If you suspect that you have encountered an error related to databases, check the following:
Start by checking that all of the services are running. For additional information, see the Basic Troubleshooting section.
If you run BriefCam and it fails on startup, you might be missing some of the prerequisites, such as C++ redistributables.
Try to reinstall the BriefCam server and the additional C++ redistributables may be installed.
If the above did not solve the issue:
Uninstall the BriefCam Server from the Control Panel.
Remove the C++ redistributables. You can find a list of these in the BriefCam Installation Guide’s Installed Prerequisites section.
Re-install the BriefCam Server.
Check that the following firewall ports are open:
TCP 5432 (or as provided) – used by PostgreSQL
TCP 6379 – used by Redis
