RAM Consumption Behavior for RESEARCH

Caution

This functionality is not applicable for sites. It is only relevant for the Hub and in standalone deployments.

The RAM consumption for the RESEARCH module is influenced by three Qlik elements: data, scheduling, and cache.

In the Qlik QMC, there are two editable parameters for the Qlik Cache element.

It is recommended to leave the default values. However, on servers with large RAM (265 GB) or when Qlik is installed on the same machine as the processing server, you can change these settings to make sure that you have enough memory for the processing server.

To change the Min and Max memory usage (%):

  1. Open QMC (with BCUser) on the RESEARCH machine – https://localhost/qmc.

  2. Select Engines > Central > Advanced.

  3. Set the new values in the Min and Max fields.

  4. Click Apply and restart the Qlik services.
