Install the XProtect Management Client user assistance for offline use

If you don’t have internet access and you want access to the XProtect Management Client user assistance, you can download and install the XProtect Management Client user assistance in various languages. Each language has its own language package, which you install separately. The user assistance also explains how to use XProtect Management Client functionality for many XProtect extensions your organization might have.

To download and install the user assistance:

1. From the Language packages list below, select a language to download and save a .zip file with a language package of the user assistance.

   If you, for example, run XProtect Management Client in German, you should download the German .zip file. If you run XProtect Management Client in a language that doesn’t have a corresponding user assistance language package, download the English language package. You can download as many language packages as you want.

2. From the Checksums (SHA256) list below, use the checksum that corresponds to the language pack .zip file you downloaded to validate that the .zip file is authentic and has not been tampered with. Use a checksum tool, such as Windows certUtil -hashfile, to read and compare the SHA256 encrypted checksum values in the list below.

3. On the computer where XProtect Management Client is installed, unzip the .zip file directly to the HtmlHelp folder. The default location of the HtmlHelp folder is \\Program Files\Milestone\XProtect Management Client\HtmlHelp\.

   Keep the language files in their language folders. For example, the English files must be in the en-US folder.
