Restrict administrators permissions to view video from analytics topics

If you have XProtect VMS administrators with permissions to configure cameras but not to view video from some of these cameras in XProtect Management Client, you should also restrict these administrators from viewing video from analytics topics that originate from cameras they have no permissions to view video from.

1. Create a test user with the same permissions as the administrators with limited view permissions and log in as his test user.

2. Select Site Navigation > Devices > Cameras.

3. Select the camera that the administrator user should not be able to view video from.

4. Select an analytics topic. You must select he whole row–not the check box.

5. Notice if video is shown on the lower part of the Processing settings pane.

6. If you cannot, all is good. If you can, contact your IVA app integrator.
