Account types

To create a Milestone account, you must sign up for a Milestone portal account. Depending on that selection, you are granted specific access to XProtect Remote Manager:

  • If you have signed up as a customer, you get the customer account in XProtect Remote Manager.

  • If you have signed up as a partner or reseller, you get the service provider account in XProtect Remote Manager.

The account type determines the look of XProtect Remote Manager:

  • Add, rename, and remove sites.

  • Monitor any site a user in a given organization has added.

  • View the states of their sites, VMS services, hosts, devices, and device components.

  • View and export audit logs.

  • Enable and disable devices.

  • Preview video and device properties.

  • Grant and revoke access to their sites to service providers.

  • View and export audit logs.

In addition to what you can do with a customer account, you can also:

  • Access and monitor customer sites.

  • View a list of customer sites that the customer has granted them access to.
