Install XProtect Cloud Connector

To view and manage your site from XProtect Remote Manager, you must install XProtect Cloud Connector on the management server host. The XProtect Cloud Connector collects event and other information and forwards it to XProtect Remote Manager.

  1. Download XProtect Cloud Connector from the Milestone software download page (https://www.milestonesys.com/downloads/).

  2. On the management server host, double-click on the installer to run the wizard.

  3. Read and accept the XProtect Remote Manager terms of use.

  4. Make sure that XProtect Cloud Connector Service is selected as a component to install.

  5. Select the installation folder. Make sure that you have the necessary permissions to create and modify the files in the selected directory.

  6. the wizard runs a compatibility check to verify that your XProtect VMS can report to XProtect Remote Manager. See Compatibility. If your system is compatible, you can continue to the next step.

  7. Select a service account. The server account is required to run the XProtect Cloud Connector service. The selected account must have the necessary permissions to run the service.

    Milestone recommends using a dedicated account for the XProtect services with only the required permissions to run these services.

  8. Paste the one-time key you got from XProtect Remote Manager.

    You can only use the key one time. You must have an internet connection to connect to XProtect Remote Manager.

    The one-time key is valid for 24 hours. If it has expired, you can generate a new key from the home page of XProtect Remote Manager.

  9. Select to install XProtect Cloud Connector.

When you have installed XProtect Cloud Connector, your site will start reporting to the cloud. You can now monitor your site remotely.
