Connecting a VMS installation to XProtect Remote Manager

To monitor and manage your VMS installation remotely, you must add it as a site in XProtect Remote Manager.

A site is a VMS installation where the management server and related VMS components run on one or more hosts and can cover multiple physical locations. When you add a site, it becomes visible to all users in your organization.

To connect to XProtect Remote Manager, you must:

  1. Add a site in XProtect Remote Manager to generate a one-time key. See Add a site.

The one-time key is valid for 24 hours. If it has expired, you can generate a new key from the home page of XProtect Remote Manager.

  2. Install XProtect Cloud Connector using the one-time key from XProtect Remote Manager. See Install XProtect Cloud Connector.

After you have connected your site successfully, the XProtect VMS installation starts reporting states to XProtect Remote Manager.
