Sticky Notes
Sticky Notes let operators add short, camera-specific information directly to live video in XProtect Smart Client. For example, operators can use notes to communicate important information or instructions to colleagues who view the same camera.
Note
In earlier versions of XProtect, Sticky Notes required Hospital Assist licensing and configuration. Starting with version 2026 R2, Sticky Notes is a standalone feature available to all customers. If you previously used Sticky Notes through Hospital Assist, your existing notes will continue to work after upgrading. However, you must now manage the categories from the Sticky Notes node instead of the Hospital Assist node.
Configure Sticky Notes
Sticky Notes are available to operators in XProtect Smart Client, when at least one Sticky Notes category is enabled, and users have the required permissions.
Enable categories
In the Management Client, go to Client > Sticky Notes to add and enable relevant categories.
Default and Warning are enabled by default, and you can add up to five additional categories. Give each category a unique name and color, so that users can easily recognize the different categories.
When all categories are disabled, Sticky Notes are unavailable in Smart Client.
Assign permissions to users
In the Management Client, go to Security > Roles and for each role, allow the relevant permissions.
Manage allows users to create, edit, and delete sticky notes.
View allows users to view sticky notes.
