Receivers

Last Updated: 1 minute read

The basic configuration of an OTLP receiver consists of an endpoint with a port and a protocol see Receivers Configuration.

receivers:

otlp/server:

protocols:

http: # Use HTTP Protobuf

endpoint: "0.0.0.0:4318" # Listen on port 4318 and accept any address tls:

cert_file: [PATH TO SERVER CERTIFICATE] # Public server certificate key_file: [PATH TO SERVER CERTIFICATE KEY] # Private server key

However, it is strongly recommended to configure the receiver to use TLS. This is done by ensuring that the server certificate and private server key are set correctly. For more information on how to configure the receiver including TLS see OTLP Receiver.

Examples on how to configure the receiver with OIDC authentication and a sending queue will be shown in their respective sections ahead.
