Data Collector Server

To make sure the Data Collector Server works correctly in a failover cluster, you must add it to the cluster role and update its configuration on all nodes.

Update the configuration file on all nodes

To make sure all nodes use the same cluster settings:

  1. Stop the Data Collector Server service on the node you are working on.

  2. Open the file: C:\Program Files\Milestone\XProtect Data Collector Server\appsettings.json

  3. Update the cluster settings with:

    • Cluster address

    • Cluster ID (from PowerShell Get-Cluster)

  "ClusterApplicationId": "[CLUSTER ID]"
}

  4. Save the file and restart the cluster role.

  5. Repeat on all nodes.
