Configure the cluster role

To ensure the management server and its related services fail over as a unit, create a cluster role for the Management Server, then add the data collector to the same role.

  1. In Failover Cluster Manager, create a Generic Service role for the cluster you just created.

  2. Add the Milestone XProtect Management Server service.

  3. Specify a Client Access Point name that will serve as the Management Server hostname. This must be different from the cluster name.

  4. Do not assign storage or registry replication.

  5. Complete the role creation wizard. Right-click the new role and select Add resource > Generic Service.

  6. Add Data Collector Server.

  7. Verify that all services are listed under the same role and are running on the active node only.
