Install Log Server on a separate server with SQL Server

For very large systems with many transactions to and from the log server's SQL Server database, Milestone recommends that you install the Log Server component on a separate server with its own SQL Server and store logs in a SQL Server database on that local SQL Server. If the Log Server is affected by performance issues, for example, due to flooding or other reasons, and uses the same SQL Server as the management server, both services can be affected.

Limit the IP access to Log Server

Milestone recommends that only VMS components can contact the Log Server. Log Server uses port 22337.
