View an alarm and take action
Alarms can be triggered by various events, such as a camera stopping working, a pane of glass getting shattered, or a blacklisted license plate being seen on camera.
To view alarms, ask your system administrator to set up alarms and give you the required user permissions.
- Open Alarms:
- Android - Tap Alarms.
- iOS - Tap .
- From the All alarms list, find the alarm you want to view and tap it to open the alarm details screen.
On the alarm details screen:
- You can view or change:
- The state of the alarm
- The person to whom the alarm is assigned
- The priority of the alarm.
- You can also view:
- The event that has triggered the alarm
- The time of the occurrence
- Additional instruction text, if any
- The name of the source action related to the alarm.
- To play the video from the source camera directly on the alarm details screen, tap on the video thumbnail.
- If there is more than one camera associated with this alarm, you can tap the message about seeing the associated cameras to open the grid view and check the recordings from all cameras.
- You can also play the video from the source camera in playback mode and use the timeline controls. To do that, tap (Android) or (iOS) to open the screen with the video playback.
- To see where the source camera is located on Smart Map, tap (Android) or (iOS).
On the screen with the video playback:
- You can use the timeline controls to play the video backward or forward. You can also add a bookmark to quickly locate sequences in the recording.
- If the camera has audio devices (microphone and speaker) attached, you can listen to incoming and outgoing recorded audio when you play the video forward at normal speed (see Find and view video recordings).
- You can create an investigation to save the video for later or share it with others. To do that, tap (Android) or (iOS). You can also specify the time to define the period you want to investigate. Then, tap Create.
- To take a snapshot of the video you are viewing, tap (Android) or (iOS).
- To enable the picture-in-picture mode, tap (Android) or (iOS).
- To go to the list of all recordings from this camera, tap (Android) or (iOS).
Acknowledge an alarm

On the alarm details screen, tap (Android) or (iOS) to go back to the All alarms list and find this particular alarm.

Swipe the alarm left or right and tap Acknowledge.
