Emergency Alert in XProtect Mobile

For this functionality to work, it requires push notifications. Push notifications are available only if you have purchased a Milestone Care Plus license.

Emergency Alert is a type of alarm triggered when a set of conditions is met. These conditions are based on policies defined by your organization and reflected in the alarm category and definition set in XProtect Management Client by your system administrator. For more information, ask your system administrator or see the section about configuring alarm data settings in the administrator manual for your XProtect VMS.

If in doubt about your user permissions, contact your system administrator.

When a potential threat is detected, Emergency Alert enables you to receive alarm notifications of the highest severity level, view the alarm details, and immediately act.

When you receive an Emergency Alert, on the alarm details screen, do the following:

  1. Tap on the video thumbnail to play the video from the source camera.
  2. Take the necessary action on the same screen:
    • Tap Acknowledge the alarm to change the alarm state to In progress. You can also view the alarm details and tap (Android) or (iOS) to play the video in playback mode and use the timeline controls. For more information, see View an alarm and take action.
    • Tap Mark as false positive to reject and close the alarm. Only choose this option if you are certain the alarm is a false positive. Use with caution.
  3. To see where the source camera is located on Smart Map, tap (Android) or (iOS).
