Install the self-signed virtual machine certificate
When the connection to the VMS is unencrypted, the wizard creates a self-signed virtual machine that encrypts the connection between the Processing Server services and XProtect Management Client.
To install the certificate:
-
Copy the public-authority-[Ubuntu Server IP].cer file from your computer to the computers that will use XProtect Management Client to manage the Processing Server.
-
Right-click the server certificate and select Install Certificate.
-
In the Certificate Import wizard, select Local Machine as the certificate store.
-
Select Next to continue.
-
Select Place all certificates in the following store and specify a folder.
-
Select Browse, and then Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
-
Select OK and Next.
-
When in the Certificate Import Wizard window, select Finish.
-
If you receive a security warning that you are about to install a root certificate, select Yes to continue.
-
If the import has succeeded, a confirmation window is displayed.
-
-
Verify that the server certificate is listed in the center view of the Trusted Root Certification Authorities subtree.
