It is recommended to deploy a single and separate license server on its own host. For this purpose, you can use a lightweight physical instance or as a virtual machine (VM). You would then configure BriefCam servers to activate their licenses against this separate host.

This architecture will enable high availability for all BriefCam servers, without the need to handle license transfer, and the license server will remain a separate single point of failure.
