General Notes

  • When installing or upgrading BriefCam or upgrading the NVIDIA GPU driver, it takes up to 30 minutes for the Processing Server service or Alert Processing Server service to start for the first time, because the Deep Neural Networks are being rebuilt.

  • As of BriefCam 2025 R1, Redis is removed from the system. After the upgrade, there may be some residual files and registry entries that are left (for example, c:\program files\redis containing logs). This is the expected behavior and can be ignored.

Known Issues

  • When upgrading, if a customer wants to use a custom passphrase, they will have to uninstall and then reinstall the BriefCam Server, Web Services, and VMS plugins.
