When creating many VIDEO SYNOPSIS® requests simultaneously (2,500 or more), the Redis memory may get filled up. By default, the Redis memory is set to 500MB.

The failure appears as follows in the Fetching Service log:

ERROR - Error initializing worker instance, failing the process Handled exception. Exception type: StackExchange.Redis.RedisServerException. Exception message: OOM command not allowed when used memory > 'maxmemory'.. [In: BriefCam.FetchingService.FetchingServiceWorkerFactory.CreateServiceWorker]

To avoid this issue or to resolve it once it has already reproduced, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Redis installation directory, which is usually located at: C:\Program Files\Redis.

  2. Edit the redis.windows-service.conf file.

  3. Search (Ctrl+F) for the following: maxmemory 500mb.

  4. Change it to maxmemory 2gb or any other value that you want. If you have an excess of RAM on the database machine then there is no real risk of setting it to 2gb.

  5. Restart the Redis service from Services.msc.
