If the processing (Processing Server service / Alert Processing Server service) fails, you may see something like the following in the logs:

“ERROR - Throw: Matrix size (3840,2160) does not match DeviceImage dimensions (720,480). In BriefCam::OX::Cuda::DeviceImageRef::Download [DeviceImage.cpp :113]” 

This most likely means that there was a resolution change during the stream (archive or live). This usually comes from a rule on the VMS that changes the resolution upon motion detection for example. Resolution changes in the stream are not supported by BriefCam and will cause the processing to fail. A configuration change on the VMS side will be required.
