Overview

Our PTZ controls enable you to easily control the movement of your cameras so that you can position them at the best angle. Before you begin please note:

  • This functionality is only available for supported devices.

  • You have to be assigned the PTZ Operator role to use this functionality.

  • Movements

    • Pan: moves the camera left and right

    • Tilt: moves the camera up and down

    • Zoom: increase or decrease magnification of the image

A button for PTZ functionality is displayed next to the fullscreen icon when hovering over any video player. When you click on the icon, controls for PTZ are being shown. To hide the controls, just click on the same icon again.

How To Control PTZ

You can use the arrows in the control overlay to pan your PTZ-enabled camera in any direction. You can also use the smaller arrows in the corners to tilt diagonally. The ' +' and ' -' icons let you zoom in and out of the view.

The Home button in the center of the control overlay brings the camera back to a defined default view. This default view has to be set-up prior on the camera's web UI. Take a look at your camera's instructions to find how to set this up.

How To Update PTZ Settings

You can make changes to the PTZ settings in the camera's web UI (i.e. updating the default view for for "home"). If modifications are made in the camera's web UI, be sure to click SETTINGS > Refresh Camera Configuration to retrieve the latest PTZ settings from the device.
