Log in and log out

Log in

  1. Start XProtect Smart Client. The login window appears.

  2. Specify the name or address of the server that you want to connect to.
  3. Select one of these authentication methods:
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Depending on the configuration, you are asked if you want to restore the windows and tabs left open when you last logged out. See Restore windows and tabs when logging in.
  6. If your system administrator has set up login authorization, one of your colleagues must authorize your login before you can start XProtect Smart Client.

If a problem occurs during login, you receive an error message. See also Logging in (troubleshooting).

Log out

  • On the global toolbar, select User menu. Select Log out.

Smart Client restarts and the login window is shown so you can log in again.
