Sites in XProtect Remote Manager
A site can be a single-computer or distributed VMS installation. When you add a site to XProtect Remote Manager, you can:
-
View the state of the XProtect VMS components.
-
View the state of the hosts the XProtect VMS components run on.
-
View and manage the devices and the device components.
In XProtect Remote Manager, the site information is divided into the following pages:
| Page | Description |
|---|---|
| Site health | Get a general overview of the devices, device components, services, and hosts of the site. You can see the current versions of your device firmware and update it if necessary. You can also keep track of your device passwords. |
| Devices |
View and manage your devices and device components. You can, among others, carry out the following tasks: |
| Hosts |
See the state of the hosts that run the XProtect components. The host state depends on the threshold defined in System Dashboard in XProtect Management Client. |
| Services | View the state of your XProtect server services, the hosts they run on, and the XProtect server service version. |
| System insights |
Get an overview of the operational health of your recording servers. You can see if and when any of your recording servers were offline or if the machine CPU, system memory or video retention time has reached or exceeded your defined critical thresholds. To see CPU, memory, and retention time data, you must have defined your system monitor thresholds from System Dashboard in XProtect Management Client. From the System insights page, you can also see a list of the events your XProtect VMS reported. |
