Enable automatic root certificate updates in Windows

To install updates on your hosts, you must disable the Turn Off Automatic Root Certificates Update setting on all hosts running XProtect Update Manager components.

Note

Use an account that is a member of the local Administrators group or has the necessary permissions to change the settings.

  1. Open the Start menu, and enter gpedit.msc to open Local Group Policy Editor.

  2. From the Computer Configuration tree, go to Administrative Templates > System > Internet Communication Management. Then click Internet Communication settings.

  3. Double-click Turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update, click Disabled, and click OK.
