Connect XProtect Cloud Connector to XProtect Update Manager

To enable XProtect Update Manager inside XProtect Remote Manager, you must connect XProtect Update Manager to XProtect Cloud Connector.

After the connection is established, XProtect Remote Manager can securely communicate with XProtect Update Manager and display available software update patches for your site. This allows you to review, deploy, and monitor updates from a single interface without accessing each XProtect installation individually.

To connect XProtect Cloud Connector to XProtect Update Manager:

  1. Right-click the Cloud Connector icon in the notification area on the Windows taskbar.

  2. Select Setup XUM Communication.

  3. In the XProtect Update Manager configuration:

    • Select Cloud Connector Service User if you’ve installed XProtect Cloud Connector using a custom user.

    • Select Specify User to use the username and password for XProtect Update Manager.

  4. Under XUM Central Service:

    1. Enter the address of the server where XProtect Update Manager is installed.

    2. Enter the secure connection key that was generated during the XProtect Update Manager installation.

  5. Select Save and close.
