XProtect Management Server Failover

Start or stop a VMS service

The VMS services use the service accounts to register and communicate with the other VMS components. To start or stop a VMS service:

  1. Open the Start menu, and enter services.msc to open Services.

  2. Right-click a MilestoneXProtect service and select Start or Stop.

    The VMS services for XProtect Management Server Failover are:

    • The MilestoneXProtectManagement Server service

    • The OpenTelemetryCollectorServiceWrapper service

    • The MilestoneXProtectEvent Server service

    • The MilestoneXProtectData Collector service

    • (Optional) The MilestoneXProtectRecording Server service
