Install the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin

To get the full benefit of your AXIS Video Surveillance Control Boards in XProtect Smart Client, you need to install the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin. When you have installed the plug-in, you can begin using your AXIS control boards immediately with the default settings. Alternatively, you can customize it further in Smart Client.

The AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin supports:

  • AXIS TU9001 Control Board

  • AXIS T8310 Video Surveillance Control Board

Install the AXIS control board

To install the AXIS T8310 or TU9001 control board, you connect it to your PC's USB port. You can connect the keyboard, jog dial, and joystick separately or combined.

Install the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin

To fully integrate your AXIS TU9001 or AXIS T8310 control board with Smart Client, you must install the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin. You must have XProtect Smart Client version 2025 R3 or later installed, as previous version so not fully support the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin.

Important

If you want to use your AXIS control boards with a previous version of the Smart Client, you’ll need a different plug-in. For more information, go to the Third-party integrations page and select the relevant AXIS control board.

To install the AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin:

  1. Go to the Milestone software download page. You need access to the Milestone Portal to download the plug-in.

  2. In the Product list, select XProtect Input Unit Plug-ins.

  3. Select Milestone AXIS T8310 and TU9001 Plugin Installer to download the installer to your computer.

  4. Go to the folder where you saved the installer and double-click it to begin the installation.

  5. Accept the terms of the license agreement and click Continue.

  6. When the installation is complete, click Close.

After the installation, your AXIS control board is set up with default settings and ready to use. You can view and change the default settings in the Smart Client under Settings > Joystick tab.
