To ensure faster and more efficient monitoring of your VMS installations using the latest developments in secure communication protocols, Milestone Systems will be discontinuing support for legacy SSL protocols, which the Customer Dashboard uses to monitor XProtect® installations through the Service URL: service.milestonesys.com.

Specifically, the Milestone Customer Dashboard will no longer support SSLv3 as of November 3, 2020, as it is no longer maintained by OpenSSL.

The Customer Dashboard will support TLSv1.0 and later, using only the latest communication protocols for compatibility and security to the maximum extent possible.

Which Customer Dashboard services are affected? 

XProtect installations that use the legacy protocols after November 3, 2020, will not be able to communicate with the Errors, Monitor mode, and Server status services. The Licenses, Test licenses, Customers, and License groups pages will not be affected. 

Which XProtect products are affected? 

Only terminated XProtect VMS and XProtect Professional VMS products up to and including the 2016 R1 release are affected, no matter which license type is used. More information on the Product Lifecycle page. 

Also, equivalent OEM editions are affected. Note that some of these were released by each OEM vendor as 2017 versions, but based on the above 2016 R1 releases.
