Filter alarms
You can filter the alarm list to show only the alarms relevant to your work. You can apply a filter to any column, such as alarm state, owner, or ID, and you can show or hide the columns by right-clicking the alarm list header. The filtering options for each column appear in the filtering toolbar.
You can only view columns that your administrator has enabled for you in the XProtect Management Client and that are supported by the features installed.
To filter the alarms list:
-
Click the alarm list toolbar to view the filtering options.
-
Enter the filter criteria for the column you want to filter on. For example, if you select priority level “1” in the Priority level field, the list shows only the alarms with that priority. You can combine filters to narrow down the list even further.
- To sort the alarms by a single column, click the column header.
- To return to the unfiltered alarm list, click Clear filter.
Your filtering is saved, and the selection remains the same until you change it.
If your alarm handling views contain map content, you can right-click an element (camera, event server, or similar) on the map in XProtect Smart Client and select Show alarms. This takes you directly to the Alarms tab, which then lists only the alarms associated with that camera.
Filter by access control zones
In XProtect Smart Client 2026 R1 or later, you can use the zone filter to show only alarms related to specific access control zones. To use this feature, an administrator must install and enable XProtect Access in the Management Client.
When you filter by zones, you can select one or more specific zones or select Unassigned to see the alarms that are not associated with any zone. For systems with many zones, you can use the search field to quickly find the relevant zone. Note that the zone filter isn’t case-sensitive, so if the zone names differ only by capitalization (for example, "Floor 2" and "floor 2"), the filter will treat them as the same zone.
Before you can filter by zones, a system administrator must enable it in the XProtect Management Client. Similarly, if a zone is deleted in the external access control system, it remains as a filter option until an administrator manually removes it.
