ACUs and Associated Cameras tab

On the ACUs and Associated Cameras tab, you can associate cameras, microphones, and speakers with access control units (ACUs) imported from your access control system.

Access control units include doors, access points, inputs, outputs, and other unit types provided by the access control integration. The associations determine which cameras are used when access control events occur, for example, to support recording, alarms, or other actions.

You typically assign cameras during the integration setup, but you can change or extend these associations later. Microphones and speakers are automatically linked through their associated cameras.

In earlier versions, camera association was limited to doors and access points. From XProtect  2026 R1, you can associate cameras with any supported access control unit.

To associate cameras with access control units:

  1. Click the Access Control node and in the Systems pane, select the relevant access control system.

  2. Click the ACUs and Associated Cameras tab. This lists all the access control units in the system, their assigned zones, and license information.

Note that licensed doors are enabled by default. You can disable a door to free up a license.

  3. Locate the ACU you want to update. You can narrow down the list in several ways:

    • In ACU Type, select the type of access control unit to display, for example, doors, access points, or inputs.

    • Use the Parent filter tto limit the list of units based on their parent device. The parent relationship is defined in the access control system.

    • Use the search field to find a unit by name or by the name of an associated camera.

  4. In the Cameras section, find the camera you want to associate. Use the search field to locate a specific camera by name.

  5. Drag the camera from the list and drop it onto the ACU you want to associate it with.

  6. To remove a camera association, click the link Remove.

  7. The changes are saved as part of the access control configuration.
