Web Services in High Availability

BriefCam's web services provide the main functionality for the web client and APIs. They are stateless in nature, using the database and shared storage as their stateful backend.
BriefCam's web services support an Active-Active redundancy model, which means you can have multiple active instances to meet high load demands or enable failover clustering.
An NGINX load balancer should be deployed in front of the web services to distribute the incoming traffic between the servers. In case of failure, the load balancer removes the failing node from the pool and only redirects traffic to healthy hosts.
Additional consideration: To avoid NGINX being a single point of failure, you can cluster multiple NGINX instances, as described here (external link).
