Why am I getting the Throw: NvEncOpenEncodeSessionEx error?

If your Processing Server service crashed with the "Throw: NvEncOpenEncodeSessionEx" error, this means that you have more than one desktop GPU on the machine and the configuration does not support more than one encoder per GPU.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Go to the BriefCam server directory and edit the OX.ini file.

  2. In the [ObjectRendering] section, find the ;CloseUpWriterWorkerNum = 4 line.

  3. Change the value to 1 and remove the semicolon. The line should now look like this: CloseUpWriterWorkerNum = 1.

  4. If the line does not exist, copy and paste CloseUpWriterWorkerNum = 1 into the [ObjectRendering] section.

  5. Save the file and restart the BriefCam Processing Server service and/or Alert Processing Server service.
