Supported NVIDIA GPU Hardware
The following GPUs have undergone thorough testing by BriefCam accompanied by throughput benchmarking conducted by our organization. The results are as follows (for 1080p cameras, 15 FPS, and medium activity):
Engine | GPU | Real-time channels | On-demand Hs/H | Notes |
Windows-based OX5 engine | Ampere A10 | 30 | 20 | For cloud environments |
Ampere A2000 / Ada RTX 2000 | 23 | 25
Ampere A4000 / Ada RTX 4000 | 30 | 28
Ada RTX4080 | 28 | 24 | For laptops only
Ada NVIDIA L4 | 30 | 30 | For server-grade environments
Ampere RTX A1000 | From v2025 R1 SP1
Blackwell 4000 Pro GPU | From v2025 R1 SP2 |
Note that:
Other GPUs from the Ada, Ampere, and Blackwell architectures may be compatible but were not tested for function or throughput. Due to the driver and CUDA library upgrades as part of the v2025 R1 SP2 release, GPUs based on older architectures will no longer function.
Hs/H means the number of hours of video that can be processed in a single hour. For example, 8 Hs/H means that 8 hours of video fetched from a particular camera can be processed in 1 hour.
Throughput refers to number of concurrent on-demand processing speed multiplier or real-time channels per GPU (pending available GPU RAM).
Intel, AMD or any other non-NVIDIA GPUs are not supported.
BriefCam does not support using more than one models of GPU on the same machine.
