Video Search Thumbnails

Video search enables users to save valuable time when looking back into history for specific people, vehicles, objects or assets. Using thumbnails of varying size, users can quickly inspect recorded video and navigate by date and time to look for events of interests and create evidence around those incidents.

Details

  • Search supports all cameras in the organization

  • Users can browse thumbnail images from video recordings in varying time increments and thumbnail size

  • Default filter is on motion which can be toggled off

  • Refine your motion results with an area of interest

  • Only available on the web app

How to

Search is accessible from any Arcules video player. To launch, click on the video search icon at the bottom right of the player. To return to the previous view, click the exit icon in the top right corner to dismiss the search interface

The search interface is displayed after clicking the search icon.

Search Header Items

  • Camera selector: Click to select a different camera from the same view.

Note: This is only available when entering video search via a view in the Views page.

  • Date and time picker: See a new set of results for a different time period.

  • Time between images: Adjust the number of seconds between the thumbnail results.

  • Image size: Adjust the size of thumbnails to be smaller to fit more on your screen or larger to see more detail.

Search Drawer

  • Motion filter: By default, video search assumes you want to search for motion events for the entire FOV, but if that’s not the case, then you can choose to see all thumbnails from a particular time period by disabling this motion switch. This way you can look for a particular object showing up or disappearing on a particular date, without involving motion.

  • Area of interest filter: You can constrain your motion search search to an area of interest in the camera’s field of view. To do so, toggle the area of interest filter on and draw a polygon.

Thumbnail Actions

Clicking the play button on any thumbnail will open up the video player to view playback, scrub through the timeline, and export evidence.
