  • Choose between different view layouts optimized for 4:3 and 16:9 display settings in both landscape and portrait modes
  • Support for multiple windows, where you can operate secondary windows in independent playback mode or in synchronized mode
  • Distribute camera views over different monitors
  • Add other types of content to views than just cameras, for example alarms, camera navigators, carousels, hotspots, HTML pages, images, maps, Matrix, video walls, and text
  • Switch to full screen mode
  • Instantly rearrange cameras in views to optimize monitoring of incidents, either by dragging and dropping cameras from one view item to another, or by dragging cameras from the Cameras pane into any view item

Audio

With two-way audio support in live mode, you can:

  • Record live audio from microphones connected to the cameras
  • Play audio from the operator's microphone to one or more camera speakers
Bookmarks and search
  • Bookmark incidents in live, playback, and search mode. Add notes to the bookmarks for easy identification and sharing
  • Bookmark multiple search results in one go.
  • Find bookmarks through search and take further action, for example editing the details or exporting the recording
Bounding boxes
  • Enable bounding boxes to help you identify objects in a camera image. Bounding boxes appear as pink rectangles surrounding objects.
  • Camera navigator Switch between all cameras that cover a specific area, for example a floorplan. This is useful, for example, if you want to follow a suspect who moves inside a building. As the person moves, you can switch to the next camera.
Carousels If you want one view item to shift between selected cameras, set up a carousel.
    Digital zoom
  • Use digital zoom to see the details.
  • Evidence locks
    • Prevent recordings from being deleted for a selected set of cameras in a given time interval
    • To increase manageability of the evidence locks, you can add details to them
    • Export video with evidence locks through a single-step operation
    Export and print
    Hardware acceleration

Improve the video quality and viewing performance by rendering video using hardware accelerated decoding. Particularly useful when you view multiple video streams that have a high frame rate and high resolution.

    Hotspots
    • Use hotspots to put a camera in a view into focus. This allows you to view the video magnified and in a higher image quality or frame rate, for example if the other cameras in the view are in a low image quality or frame rate
    • Through local hotspots, you can display cameras from the current view
    • Through global hotspots, you can display cameras from any view or display
HTML pages Incorporate HTML pages into your views, for example to combine an online news channel with a set of cameras.
    Independent playback
  • View recorded video independently of the timeline in the main window. Available on both the Live and Playback tab.
  • Input, output, and events control

Use input from external units to trigger rules in the VMS system, for example a rule that starts recording.

Activate or deactivate functionality in output devices, for example starting or stopping a siren. You can control output devices manually or by setting up rules server-side.

Login authorization Increase the system security by enforcing that XProtect Smart Client operators during log-in must be granted access to the system by a second person or supervisor.
Manual recording Record video manually from cameras on the Live and Playback tab.
    Map function
    • Add multi-layered and interactive maps that display the location of cameras and gives you control of all system components
    • Maps can represent cities, streets, buildings, and rooms
    • The map feature is integrated with XProtect Smart Wall
    Motion search and smart search
    • Search for recordings with motion on the Search tab
    • Search for recordings with motion in selected areas on the Search tab.
    Playback timeline
    • Navigate recordings through the timeline

    • Get a visual overview of recordings, motion, and bookmarks through colored markers
    • Select time interval for exports, evidence locks, and video retrieval from edge storage devices and interconnected systems
Privacy masks During export, you can mask specific areas in the recordings, for example to hide the identify of someone. You do this one camera at a time.
PTZPan-tilt-zoom; a highly movable and flexible type of camera.
    Smart map function
Snapshots Take instant snapshots from cameras on the Live and Playback tab.
Storyboarding Include video sequences from different or overlapping time intervals from different cameras in the same export.
System monitoring Get an overview of the current state of your servers, connected devices, and the computer running XProtect Smart Client. This includes system performance.
    XProtect Smart Wall

Through XProtect Smart Wall, you can set up video walls to share video, alarms, maps, bookmarks, and text information with other operators.
